About Chad Swenson
Creative by nature, Chad chose the more conventional path of working in the field of psychology before transitioning to a career in the entertainment industry when he moved to Los Angeles in 2001.
In the early years of his career in entertainment production Chad wore many hats. It all began with 14 hour days as a PA on the set of “The Jamie Kennedy Experiment”. From there Chad landed the position of Key Set PA/2nd AD on the set of the feature film “Greener Mountains”. Over the course of the next few years, he worked in the art department for “Scare Tactics”, as a Camera Assistant on “Arrested Development”, as a Locations Assistant on a CBS pilot titled “Real Nightmares” (5 Eps), and as Development Coordinator for CMT reality programming (Viacom).
In 2006, Chad landed the position as Head of Production/PM/Coordinating Producer at Twelve Tone Productions and made that his home for the last 12 years. At Twelve Tone Productions he handled all aspects of production- from producing in the field & office, to Production Manager/Line Producer on bigger shoots, to camera prep & B Camera Operator (Sony F55/A7s/Fs7), to 2nd AD, to accounting and everything in between.
An experienced project manager, Chad managed approximately 5-12 shoots per week, many of which came up with just a few days notice. Twelve Tone handled a variety of content formats consisting of marketing, promotional, creative & branded content, and behind the scenes shoots for studios and vendors. As Coordinating Producer he utilized his large network of some of the best freelance union and non-union crew in Los Angeles.
An expert in crew and client relations, Chad collaborated with studio execs, agency execs, and producers for each job to ensure their crew and creative needs were delivered. (This is where his psychology background really came in handy?)
Twelve Tone’s main clients were HBO, Netflix, Warner Brothers, FOX, and Mob Scene Creative. Commercial jobs/clients included Goodby Silverstein (Tostitos), Tangueray, NFL, Beneful, Adidas, and an HBO shoot promoting special edition Johnnie Walker scotch whiskey Game of Thrones bottles.
In the Fall of 2018 Chad and his family moved back home to Kansas City. Since being in Kansas City Chad has worked primarily as a freelance Line Producer or Production Manager for clients such as AMC Theatres, Amway, Prairie Band Casino, and Riceland. In early 2019 Chad was introduced to Just Like You Films and was blessed with the opportunity to produce their first feature length documentary that focuses on creating a more accepting, understanding, and kinder world for kids dealing with Anxiety and Depression.
Empire Eleven Productions was inspired by two principal beliefs, destiny and hope. It was destiny that Chad combine his understanding of people with his love for the arts. His hope is to continue to use Empire Eleven Prod as a platform to create and collaborate with other like minded individuals in the world of TV, film, and advertising.
